1. Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Texas
Texas gets so hot during the summer reaching unbelievably hot temperatures prompting people to head on to their perfect destination to cool off, that is, to one of the best water parks in America called Schlitterbahn Waterpark located in New Braunfels, Texas between Austin and San Antonio. The top rated water park has plenty of amazing rides earning it the Golden Ticket Award for "Best Water Parks" seven years in a row. All kinds of water rides ranging from slow family friendly rides to adrenaline pumping thrill rides can be found at the Schlitterbahn Waterpark. The most popular rides in the park are the Master Blaster and the Torrent, located in Blastenhoff. The Master Blaster combines the roller-coaster element with a lot of water all through the ride. The Torrent is a white-water rapids ride similar to the more traditional white water rapids rides and is family friendly and longer. Schlitterbahn Water Park is a complete resort with restaurants and overnight lodgings right on the property. Barbecue and picnic facilities are found all over the park. The park allows home-brought foods and picnics in the facilities, so families can save money by bringing in their own snacks and drinks.
2. Noah's Ark, Wisconsin
Noah's Ark makes number two in my list of Best Water Parks in America as it has some record breaking rides like the Black Anaconda, the nation’s longest water coaster and the world’s only 4D Dive-In Theater featuring the SpongeBob SquarePants 4D Movie. "Curse of the Crypt", a haunting new adventure ride is just commencing in 2009. Noah's Ark water park also has about 50 waterslides, 2 huge wave pools, 2 endless rivers, 4 childrens water play areas, Paradise Lagoon activity pool, 3 large group tube rides, mini golf, etc. Tadpole Bay just started in 2008 that is an island of fun for everyone in the family and is very popular with the kids. Check out their website for current coupons and promotions on admission and discounts for their water park tickets.
3. Aquatica in Orlando, Florida
Aquatica water park, located at Sea World in Orlando Florida, is open year round featuring a large sandy beach with wave pools on the side. Admission to Aquatica requires a separate ticket from Sea World but you can easily discount packages on the internet. Parking is about $10 per day. Aquatica is a combination of animal experiences, water rides and slides, high-speed thrills and relaxing sandy beaches and will appeal to all ages. Tube slides, body slides, raft slides, bowl rides, mat-racing slides, family raft rides, wave pools, activity pool, lazy river, action river, live animals, interactive water play center, and play areas for younger kids make it one of the best waterparks in America. Aquatica also boasts white sandy beaches where you can relax in the shade of your own personal cabana and take advantage of the beachside service.
4. Water World, Colorado
Exciting rides like Journey to the Center of the Earth, Flatline and Zoomerang make Water World in Denver Colorado one of the best water parks in America. Experience Journey to the Center of the Earth and encounter animatronic dinosaurs. The tall Flatline offers a drop for more thrill seeking visitors. Splash around in Captain Jack’s Wave Pool or go on the Zoomerang, another tall water slide to experience the adrenaline rush and fight with cobras and mummies in the Lost River of the Pharaohs which is an exciting whitewater raft journey. If you do not want any action and just need a relaxing time in the water, head to the Big Top Family Fun Zone and just take it easy with kids.
5. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach in Orlando, Florida
How can the list of best water parks in America be without Disney's water park creation in Orlando Florida? Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach is Disney's answer to competition in water parks. Guess what... Disney has spent money and resources to make it one of the best water parks in the world. At Typhoon Lagoon, you can meet real sharks at Shark Reef while snorkeling, the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool is great, Crush N Gusher ride for thrills, and Disney's lazy river, Castaway Creek is an awesome place to just relax in the water on a tube. Blizzard beach offer some of wild and thrilling rides like Summit Plummet, Downhill Double Dipper, and Runoff Rapids rides. Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, one of 2 Water Parks in Walt Disney World Resort, features one of the world's tallest and fastest free-falling waterslides, as well as slides and rides for the whole family—like a kid-sized, snow-castle fountain play area with scaled-down versions of the more thrilling attractions.

Hi Travelerhubs, you just made me want to include building a waterpark in our own little city as part of my "what will I do if I have a million dollars hub?" But I'm making that into a billion dollars!!! LOL Wow! I really, really love looking at the photos... so cool and beautiful!!! I want to try all of them! Hahaha Maybe my angel wings can take me there...
Sorry I got carried away with all the water excitement. I am here to also congratulate you for being a Hubnugget Wanabee for this week!!! Yipppeee! It's great to be a Hubnugget Wanabee! Find out by clicking this link that will take you to Patty's hub where all thing are going on under the GreenCorn Moon. (winks)
Didn't know about Noah's Ark. Big fan of water parks.
Noah's Ark is the greatest... live about and hour away :)
Wow what a selection of venues. We only have hot spring mineral pools in Bumble Town, but these are pretty good during winter. Good Luck in the HubNuggets.
I've been through New Braunfels in the spring before Schlitterbonn was open for the season and this park looked amazing! Sprawling, great layout and lots of green, lush trees---plus you have the Guadalupe River nearby if you want to go tubing if you haven't had enough fun at the water park. Beautiful Texas. Good luck in the HubNuggets!
These water parks look amazingly fun! That slide at the Disney park is so long, I bet you go pretty fast! :D
Very Nice! I love the Disney Blizzard Beach! Wish I could do there! =)
Your hub is part of the Hubpages newsletter!!! Hurrah... LOL Every time I visit your hub, it brings a good feeling inside looking at the water parks. Now I wish I could visit there someday. :-) Congratulations for being part of the top 5 Hubnuggets!
I'm not a "water" person, but if I was....Schlitterbahn is where it's at!
those are some very cool water parks i shore wish me and my friends could go there!!!!!!!!
I've been to the schlitterbaghn in new braunfels...yeah its fun if you wanna wait 2 hours for the good rides..the master blaster literally has signs going up the stairs where you stand in line that say "in 2 hours you will be on the ride of your life" then farther up "in 90 minutes you will be on the ride of your life"..so on and so forth..
That picture of Water World in Denver is not of Water World - first it looks so much better than that, and secondly, there is no way from anywhere in the park you will see downtown Denver in the background. That MIGHT be some of the water attractions at Elitches, which is downtown. But Water World does rock!
live in seattle so I can't to any of these water parks unless on vacation : ( At least I don't live in Wisconsin. All I can do is go to wild waves, which is still fun.
Those are SO cool. The top two in particular look fantastic. If I get to Texas I'm definitely going to visit Schlitterbahn Waterpark!
I wouldn't say that it's the best. But, Wildwater Adventure at Michigan's adventure is pretty cool. They have 3 wave pools, two family raft rides, several tube slides. And, their best attraction the funnel of fear.
i think they r all very kwool
Cool hub, gives me some great vacation ideas!
I've been to schlitterbahn and it is amazing but if you go make sure to make it a two day trip cause you can't do all the rides in just one day
I have been to wet n wild near orlando that was a great place, I will have to give some of these other water parks a try they look great
Yeah we heard so much hype about Schlitterbahn we just had to try it: Wow was it WAY TO EXPENSIVE for everything. it had some fun rides but man it is WAY TOO CROWDED the lines were the worst I've ever seen and I mean lousy!
We waited like at least 2 and 1/2 hours for every decent ride and no ride lasts more than 90 seconds! ITS CRAZY DON'T GO THERE: TOO EXPENSIVE, TOO CROWDED, LINES TOO LONG, AND RIDES WAT TOO SHORT and oh yeay did I mention? its WAY TOO HOT in the summer too! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Blizzard Beach - the water park listed here in your Hub! I went there last fall and had a ball, especially when I rode Summit Plummet 3 times! No Disneyphile should bypass this wintry heck of a water park, regardless how one hates the Christmas creep or not!
Anyway - this Hub totally rocks!
I like Blizzard Beach the best. Nobody should miss that water park.ive been on the Summit Plummet 14 times
My family went to Schlitterbaun in New Braunfels, TX. We were so disappointed. We had gone 7 years ago and remembered how great it was but I don't think they have done any renovations since then. they had duct tape holding down the astroturf. Trash was everywhere even at 11:00 in the morning it was pretty nasty. Hate to say it but we won't go back. Hurricaine Harbour in Arlington will get our busines from now on.
What about Dollywood's Splash Country in Pigeon Forge, TN?
Water World iz sooooooooooooo cool! :D
Great Hub! I searched some of these water parks and found a webpage called http://www.funfix.com check it out for full listing of water parks and other categories.
